Common questions
What categories should I track expenses under?
Enough to make decisions, few enough to stay consistent — typically payroll, software, marketing, premises, professional fees and travel. Twenty categories that get filled in inconsistently are worse than six that don't.
Can I import expenses from my bank or card?
Yes. Export a CSV from your bank or card provider, upload it, and map the columns once. The categorisation and monthly totals compute from there.
Does this handle VAT?
You can hold gross, net and VAT as separate columns and total each. It's a management tracker rather than a VAT return, so it summarises rather than files.
