What makes a good Excel dashboard?
One screen, four to six headline numbers, and at most two charts that explain those numbers. The common failure is a dashboard that shows everything the data contains rather than the handful of figures a decision actually turns on.
How many KPIs should a dashboard show?
Four to six on the top row. Past that the eye stops treating any of them as headline figures. If more matter, they belong in the table beneath, not as tiles.
Can I use these layouts with my own spreadsheet?
Yes. Each design binds to column intent rather than to a fixed schema — it looks for columns whose names suggest revenue, date, region and so on, and maps itself to whatever your file has. Every number is computed from your data.
Do I need an Excel add-in?
