Common questions

How do I calculate tiered commission without nested IFs?

Hold the tiers as a small rate table — threshold and rate per row — and look each deal up against it. That's what this template does, and it means changing the plan is editing one row rather than rewriting a formula.

What's the difference between tiered and accelerated commission?

Tiered pays a different rate on each band of sales. Accelerated raises the rate on everything once a threshold is crossed. Accelerated is a stronger incentive at the line and considerably more expensive above it.

Can it handle quotas, splits and draws?

Quota attainment and split deals are straightforward as extra columns. Recoverable draws work too, but they need a running balance per rep rather than a per-deal calculation.
