Common questions
How do I work out who's over-allocated?
Sum committed hours per person per week and compare against their available hours. Anyone over 100% is over-allocated on paper, and in practice anything over about 80% leaves no room for the unplanned work that always arrives.
Should I plan to 100% utilisation?
No. Teams planned to full utilisation have no slack for sickness, support or estimation error, so the first surprise pushes every deadline. 70–85% is the range most teams can actually sustain.
Can it handle part-time and shared people?
Yes — available hours is a per-person, per-week number, so a three-day-a-week person or someone split across two projects is just a smaller figure in that column.
